Europe Music Awards 2009 was a spectacular…BORE.

Last night’s EMA awards held in Berlin (broadcasted by MTV) was supposed to be a momentus annual occaison, especially this year celebrating The Reunification of West and East Germany happening 20 years ago, but instead was dull, drab and very disappointing for annual viewers such as myself.
Katy Perry hosted with Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy, dont worry i dont remeber him either!) as digital host.
Katy really stepped up to the challenge as always, she was witty, cute and edgy, easy on the eye too but to be quite honest, i ended up being more enthralled by her outfit changes than the actual show itsself!
With performances from The Foo Fighters, Beyonce, U2, Tokio Hotel, Shakira, Jay-Z and Leona Lewis all of which lacked a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’  if you asked me any questions on the performances quite frankly i wouldn’t be able to tell you, they were all so forgettable!
U2 attempted to rock it at the Berlin Wall playing outside the studio for their dual performances…emphasis on attempted.
Beyonce dissapointed me most out of all the performers as i expected the most from her and got the least!
Her performance was half-hearted to put it gentley although she looked amazing she just didnt do it for me, she only sang snippets of her song “Sweet Dreams” at a slower tempo with a small burst of her infamous “Guilty Pleasure” dance to conclude her very short but not so sweet performance.
Although she did clean up, winning 3 awards for “Best Female”, “Best Song” for ‘Halo’ and “Best Video” for ‘Single Ladies’ in which during the acceptance speech the thanked Hubby Jay-Z for “Putting a ring on it”. Awww it’s so sweet it’s almost vomit inducing!
Cynicism aside, congrats BeBe! well deserved wins!

Katy made a brave and hillarious dig at Kanye “douchebag” West interrupting his nomination with “Yo Kanye i’m real happy for you man and imma let you finish but this is the best interruption of all time..of all time!” absolutley ingenious! props to Katy & the writers for that one!

Inside Goss revealed Miss.Perry sent a few sparks flying with a comment she made reffering to an absent Lady Gaga’s genitals, claiming the rumours about her …woMAN hood was true!
Gaga! Ooh La La!
