Jedward: Can they get anything right?

Since the beginning irish pop duo Jedward have either been the band you loved or the band you hated with a passion, and I dont understand where on earth the love is coming from, because it is completely unjustified.

Jedward featured in The X Factor last year, were hated by Simon, pityed by Cheryl and Danni and well, pretty much “bummed” by Louis because of the fact their irish, and the kind of stupid thing that Louis likes. This can be justified by also watching Louis’ two short stints on Britain’s got Talent, where he was seen to be saying yes to the most ridiculous and pitiful acts you have ever witnessed in your life.

His fans quickly got behind Jedward and they went to appear up to the 7th week of the live shows when they were eliminated, I was personally disgusted about the fact they got so far as some genuine talent had been eliminated previously, but I’ll admit the standard last year wasn’t TOO great.

Jedward then went to be signed by a record label, Sony, for a one album deal. This was a very risky deal on behalf of Sony, and they quickly realised (after one song, to be precise), that the Duo were a waste of time and were quickly dropper from the label after only one song. The reason being that it did so poorly because they covered a Queen song “Under Pressure” and featured has been rapper Vanilla Ice who once used a sample from the song in his own song “Ice Ice Baby”, Queen fans where insulted, everyone else was disgusted, but Jedward have always had their loyal fan base, or as I call them “complete nutters”.

Now, I want to quickly note where the boys are going wrong, and what they could do to improve their pathetic image.

THE HAIR

Jedward desperately need to get rid of that pathetic hair do, it is both nauseating and out dated, it looks absolutely awful. As you can see they would benefit a lot from “letting their hair down”, but even then I think it looks too long, get a BIC boys you know you want too! Although this hair style is currently popular with Jedward Fans, the signature hair style DEFINATELY NEEDS TO GO.

THE MUSIC

Look at Katie and Peter, not only did their COVER ALBUM, FAIL, BADLY. So did their marriage, and both their careers. Jedwards first two songs have both caused outrage amongst music fans who have heard Jedward SLAUGHTER their favorite songs. Queen fans heard them cover “Under Pressure (ice ice baby)” and Blink 182 fans have recently heard them release a cover of “All The Small Things”. It doesn’t stop there either, their debut album doesn’t feature ONE original song. NOT ONE. What on earth? Get some original songs guys, cover albums suck.

THE DANCES

Im not really sure if Jedward have choreographers, but judging by their performances and first video, they either do and dont pay any attention, or they just dont have one. When you watch them perform live its like watching twins dancing to two different songs on a dance mat, they’re simply not performing together and it looks messy and untidy. Also, if you’re going to try and do a backflip or fancy dance moves, try getting some training and not spraining your ankle next time.

THE WARDROBE

All that needs to be said is,
A) Dont wear the same clothes but different colours, that never worked for anybody.

B) Get a t shirt and jeans guys, you’ll look much better.

THE TECHNICIANS

Now, really, apart from Jedward’s awful miming, you can’t really blame them for this, but it’s something that needs to be mentioned. Most artists mime on GMTV now a days, its okay, as long as they sing live when they do a tour, and mime well on TV, it doesn’t bother me, but today I watched them “sing” their rendition of “All the small things”, and I couldn’t help but notice how awfully it had been edited.

In an earlier segment the presenters were cooking on a barbecue outdoors andyou could hear Jedward fans screaming at the other end of the studio, interrupting the current segment, so why, when it comes to Jedward performing live, do they mute the cameras and the booms and just play the track with the words over Jedward miming? So, the only thing you could hear is the song, no screaming, no cheering, nothing. Then at the end of the song they turned the Boom back up and you could hear the screaming again, its so unlogical it’s untrue, they could have atleast played the song in the studio and had the cheering in the background that to not have it at all and it to look AWFUL.
