Michaela Says Interviews July’s Inside Gossip Artist of 2010 – André//’PurpleBOii’.

For this month’s Inside Gossip Artist of 2010 i was privileged enough to squeeze myself into the busy, busy shedual of the gorgeous André//PurpleBOii. Here’s what the sexy songster had to say…

Hii André! so how did you come up with the name “PurpleBOii”?
Well i’m called André//’PurpleBOii’. I see myself as having two sides. My artistic, musical side and my everyday, at home with the family, drinking a load of tea in front of the computer side, haha.
Purple IS my favourite colour yes, yet that isn’t the reason for the stage name. I go by the name ’PurpleBOii’ because, i believe that the colour ‘Purple’represents my personality. Purple is a smooth, calm & mellow, stern yet comforting, mysterious colour. I believe myself to have pretty much the same qualities. So i decided to use the name to present myself and in turn describe myself.

How would you describe your sound?
Well as a singer, i initially was fond of the Pop and R&B genres. I decided to combine the sounds and create something i call R&B Fusion. But i have in the past worked with the Rock and Indie styles.

So what’s your ultimate goal?
I think my ultimate goal is only to be successful in any area i decide to explore, and with that i think i’ll be happy. I believe if you chase the money and rush to be something in this music your career won’t be long living.

Whats your favourite part of being a musician?
I hope i can choose two, because i can’t decide, haha.I LOVE the studio, actually creating the music. Away from that it’s definitely the people. The response i get from the audiences and the support i get from followers of my music is second to none.

Who are your influences?
I am heavily influenced by Michael Jackson And practicioners like Bob Fosse & Gwen Verdon when it comes to dancing. Where music is concerned, i am influenced by artists such as, Prince, Pharrell Williams, Ryan Leslie, Lil’ Wayne, Mario, Trey Songz, Tyga & Drake.

Do you have any celebrity crushes? If so who?
I have definitely dropped for Vanessa White from ‘The Saturdays’, haha.
Think that’s it though, U.K-wise at least. If we’re talking about the states that’s another story, there’s too many.

Tell us some Inside Gossip about yourself, any juicy secrets?
Errmm…Well this was something i hoped to keep to myself for a while, but i’ll bare all, so-to-speak for Inside Gossip, haha. Away from all my confidence in music and being on stage, bold and proud. I’m quite the opposite in my everyday life. I’m not the talk to women on the street, chat up kind of guy. I’m pretty reserved. I wouldn’t go and talk to a woman if i saw her and i liked her. But don’t confuse that with cockiness, it’s just a confidence thing.

Haha ahh so THATS why you havent asked me out yet! Haha! Whats next for you?
Well, i have a few projects in motion at the moment. Recently recorded a few music videos for the CEO of my label, Rubee Rayne. I’m gonna be working on my album over the coming months. And i also have a planned for the recording of my first official music video shooting in Barcelona.
Away from that, my camp Quart-R-Back ENT, are going to be working on their solo projects along with group material.
