Jones’ parents split up when she was young, and she was raised by her mother in Dallas. She won several performing awards during her two years in college, and in 1999, she left for New York City to pursue her musical dreams.

Career Roots and Success

Jones got her start in New York as a lounge singer, and she quickly garnered a loyal local following as her reputation for pure vocal talent grew. She signed a recording contract with Blue Note Records, and buried herself in the studio to begin recording albums.

There are books written by Kreskin, who has also trained police officers in how to detect lies and to recover witness memories simply by analyzing body language.

Beijing 2008 Olympics are over, but they’ll resonate in people’s minds for a long time. American swimmer Michael Phelps achieved what no other Olympian in history had. He was decorated with 8 gold medals from a single Olympics. Michael Phelps made history in Beijing. Or so it would seem. But was it really so? Is Michael Phelps really as good as we’re force-fed to believe?

During a very controversial race in the men’s 100-meter butterfly on August 16, 2008 Michael Phelps was pronounced a winner beating Serbian-American swimmer Milorad Cavic by 0.01 second. Despite initial evidence proving that Milorad Cavic touched the board with both hands first, somehow the evidence was altered ensuring Michael Phelps comes out of the race as winner. It takes a closer look at Olympics behind the scenes as it takes a closer look at what’s between the lines to understand why it was so important to make Michael Phelps immortal.

Americans needed a hero:

The picture of the United States on international level is crumbling as it has for years. Whether you look at War on Terror fiasco, a fairytale of WMA and subsequent invasion of Iraq fiasco, or any other of countless fiascos the USA has been involved in, the way other countries see the most powerful nation in the world is not very flattering. It’s got to count for something when Kellogg Co. is able to tell that the best athlete of all time is on the box of their cornflakes. It definitely has a better marketing impact than having a mere great athlete on the box. Being able to tell that your Speedos are worn by the best swimmer in the world has a better ring than saying that one of the best swimmers wore Speedos. The same goes for Omega watches, Visa credit cards, Hilton Hotels Corp., PowerBars by Nestle, AT&T Inc., Rosetta Stone Ltd., PureSport beverages, SwimRoom.com, and whoever else invested their money into Michael Phelps. They’re all looking to get the most out of their investment back. Hold on – Omega is one of Michael Phelps sponsors? Weren’t they the official providers of time keeping for the Olympics in Beijing? I see… now it’s starting to make way more sense.

Beijing needed to be the host of biggest Olympic achievement:

Beijing invested obscene manpower, energy and money into creation of the most spectacular event ever conceived by mankind. They needed to make sure their Olympics are talked about for decades over decades after wards. They desperately needed to immortalize everything they’ve worked so hard for and invested so much money into. And what better way to secure that Beijing will always be remembered then by having an athlete who achieves impossible during their games. Each time someone mentions the best Olympian, name Beijing will be attached to it, because that is where Michael Phelps collected 8 gold medals. This record will be hard (almost impossible) to match, hence Beijing will remain at the forefront of Olympic Games hosts for a very long time just on this premise alone. Could Chinese officials miss on this opportunity? Well, have you seen how much money they put into their games?

Conclusion:

I have no doubt Milorad Cavic beat Michael Phelps. Milorad Cavic is without doubt a better swimmer, but awarding him with gold would not benefit anyone. Awarding Michael Phelps with gold would benefit many, including all those who matter – sponsors and two of the most powerful countries that control more than who the best athlete is. Michael Phelps is a product of corporate madness. He’s an investment, a marionette that gets the spotlight for playing the corporate game. There was way too much in stake to spoil it all by giving gold to Milorad Cavic.

36 year old record held by Mark Spitz who won seven gold medals in a single Olympics has been broken. Back then the Olympics were about sportsmanship and Mark Spitz won his seven golds because he was good. He also broke the world record in all of those seven swimming events he won. There’s a new record now and it belongs to Michael Phelps. How he got to it is disputable, but that’s not what he will be remembered as. He’s now the most praised athlete and will remain one for a very long time. I’m not gonna say I hope he could live with himself knowing how he got to the status he has, because there are people out there who are on a much lower scale of humanity and not only do they live with themselves, they live happily and enjoy themselves.

Life’s not fair. We all know that. Congrats to Michael Phelps, the biggest joke of an athlete.

Have you ever played hide-and-seek? What about a make-believe treasure hunt? Do you remember how was the game won? Well, if you’re going to fish for Brook Trout, it’s practically the same!

The technique in trying to get a good catch is to know your prey first- its deceptive actions, its favorite hiding spots, its preferred environment, etc. In that way, you’d be able to plan your approach. You can’t just launch an all-out attack, without knowing even the terrain you’re plunging into! What if that was quicksand under the water?

For starters, one could get a background check- starting with the family. This serves as your treasure-map to your treasure.

Trout actually belong to the salmon family of fish. It then is divided into three sub-groups which are found generally in cold waters, including those of the Atlantic and the Pacific brook trouts or brookies, belong to the Salvelinus family of trout which include those referred to as char or charr. Brook trout are known to be one of the tastiest of trout and are native to North America as well as Canada.

But even our own family members have their own taste. And so do brook trout among their trout families! So, what temperatures do brookies most prefer? What kind of bodies of water should one  be checking out before fishing for these guys?

Here’s the tip. Brook trout like medium to fast flowing water, with a temperature water that is on the cool side within the range of 57 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as water that contains lots of oxygen, like spring fed streams and pools.

Where they can be found also depends on the season, so be sure to look up when the special brook trout seasons are. Of course, during breeding season, it would be natural for trout to find a dark and safe place to lay their eggs. They’re also said to found in clean shallow pools that contain lots of gravel on the bottom.  They are described as being stationary and can also be found under the cover of logs, rocks and undercut banks.

The larger, older brook trout commonly inhabit the deeper pools and move to the shallow water in order to feed.  Areas that are rich in aquaculture or in-stream vegetation are also a great place to look for these guys since for them, these are areas that are like a huge buffet.

With all this information gathered, it’s now important to learn the details in order to identify them. The largest brookie ever caught weighed 14.5 pounds. Normally brookies have an average of 10-12 inches in length but they can also reach 21 inches, weighing 4-6 pounds. Typical coloring is olive-green to dark brown on the back with silvery sides and pale spotting. All colors intensify at spawning time, when males develop a hook at the front of the lower jaw.

Now this is the part where you’ve found your treasure. You’ve found where they’re hidden, the right times to be fishing for them, and how they look. But now, from treasure hunting, the whole thing can turn into a strenuous game of hide-and-seek with the brookies. It’s therefore essential to understand their behavior so that you’d know how to approach them.

Brook trout are known for being moody and sensitive. Even a little movement would alarm them, making the whole process of catching them extremely hard. Therefore light tackle, as one source said, is a must. Patience and perseverance is the key to catching this rare and tasty trout. Stealth in movement is a great strategy. A fisherman’s goal here is to entice the trout to the bait, at the same time giving off the aura of safety. Therefore, your gear has to be as light as possible. Old sneakers have been recommended to be used when traversing the river bed.

Catching brook trout is just like achieving the goal of climbing a mountain that cannot be reached without a lot of effort to climb it. Knowledge of the trout is just a crucial yet small step towards a good catch. The character with which the fisherman approaches his goal matters the most, especially with the brookies. Patience, perseverance and caution must always be used. Along with technique, by God’s Will, there’s a great chance for a good catch!

The sweltering summer of 2010 is coming to a close. Stores are starting to advertise for back-to-school sales, students are finalizing their schedules, and people are saying goodbye to summer camp friends and lazy days at the beach. The end of summer is surely a sad time for many, but also it brings the beginning of the school year. One way to gear yourself up for getting back to hitting the books is by tuning in to satellite tv and watching some classic back-to-school films. Here are a few that top the list.

1. Mean Girls is Tina Fey’s, of Saturday Night Live, film debut as a writer and actress. The film also stars Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, as well as features smaller roles from SNL favorites like Amy Poehler and Ana Gasteyer. With Tina Fey behind the writing this film is a cleverly hilarious jaunt through the jungle of high school, with “mean girls” at the top of the food chain. The storyline follow Lohan’s character, a new transfer, as she tries to fit into her new school. The popular girl cliques on campus, known as the “plastics,” decide to adopt her as one of their own and the drama unfolds from there. It’s a must see to poke fun at the social life of high schoolers. This popular film can almost always be found playing on satellite tv channels.

2. American Pie takes a different view of high school with the protagonists being a group of guys navigating through their senior year of high school. The film stars Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Seann William Scott with supporting roles played by Tara Reid, Alyson Hannigan and comedy favorites Eugene Levy and Jennifer Coolidge. For many of the young actors this was the films that broke them into the big screen and fame. The films starts as the guys are ending their summer and decide to make a pact to lose their virginity before the end of senior year. Some fall in love, some in lust, and some find a completely different focus. The movie takes you on a ride that is unafraid to make fun of all the awkwardness of high school and bring out some real heartfelt sentiment about the end of this chapter of life. Check your satellite tv listings to tune into the race to graduation.

3. Can’t Hardly Wait is another film that makes high school both a comical series of awkward mishaps with an underlying story that leaves the viewer feeling nostalgic for that time. The film stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ethan Embry, Lauren Ambrose, Seth Green and Sean Patrick Thomas. The plot follows the ensemble cast through the end of their senior year leading up to the big graduation party. Everyone has their own agenda for the night, the main character attempting to tell the girl he’s had a crush on for all four years about his feelings, another to get revenge on the school jock who bullied him, and a third unlikely couple that emerges. It’s a light romp through the pitfalls and highlights of high school and a realistic story of that asks the “what if” questions and lets the characters answer them on screen. It has been recently remastered for HD, so look for this version in your satellite tv listings.

EM-L as fans are all over the world have begun to call her, is a very talented artist with so many talent’s to name, Not only is she stunning and has her own style that rocks, She can keep a high note aswell. Emshey is going to become this years Felmale Eminem but with a classy aproach.

Emshey is a born bred liverpool girl, Witch this is what I love about Emshey, Not only is she a classy scouse girl like myself, But it has been a very long time since a girl with such talent to come from liverpool and be known all over the world since The Beatles.

Em-L is now 21 and living in London. I got a chance to have a chat with the star earlyer on this week, and this is what we got chatting about

Jahmayne: When did you first realise that you had a talent as a Rapper/Singer Songwriter?

Em-L: Probably when I was about 14,  in the playground at school, singing to my friends. They said I was an amazing singer and I thought “If I can entertain a playground, I want to entertain the world!”

Jahmayne:  How did you cope being fostered as a child?

Em-L: It was quite difficult, I wasn’t just fostered, I was in a childrens home with loads of other kids, away from my elder sister, who was in a seperate unit and left with my younger sister to look after. I turned to drink at a young age to cope, thankfully I got over that! It made me stronger though and taught me lessons to build my character.

Jahmayne: Who inspires you to write and why?

Em-L: Mariah Carey I love her melodies, arrangements of tracks and all her albums, she is amazing.

Jahmayne: What is behind your music?

Em-L:  Truth & Soulfullness, I want to bring a message of love, peace & happiness.

Jahmayne:  What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?

Em-L: Depends on what track they are listening to?  “Can’t Nobody” for example resembles love & passion for someone that you truly care about and resembles and celebrates true love.Different tracks will bring out different feelings in people. I want to touch & reach out to everybody.

Jahmayne: You have already met some amazing artists in your life, You have met the like’s of, Tinchey Stryder, Ne-Yo, Chipmunk, Bono, Bizarre (D-12) how did it feel meeting some of these amazing artists?

Em-L: It felt great, they are in the same game as me but they inspire me as they have made it! Seeing as I came from nothing, sitting and talking to these people made me remember that my teachers told me I would come to nothing and there I’am mixing with the best of the best, hoping to become like them one day!

Jahmayne:  Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years time?

Em-L: With 3 platinum placques on the wall of my office & in my house in rural England & Jamaica! (Em-L Laughs) Also, I would like a couple of kids and a husband!

Jahmayne: If you could only choose one person to do a single with, who would it be and why?

Em-L: Tough question……. Mariah Carey or Beyonce. I love them both!

Jahmayne: In some of your song’s you sing about the “Haters” How does it feel to prove all those people who didn’t believe in you, wrong?

Em-L: It feels fantastic! I’am smiling right now. Everybody told me I would amount to nothing. As a child in care, no one knowing my name, the afro hair kid who wasn’t pretty and nobody cared about. That could have scarred me but I feel completely different from that now, I feel totally blessed!

Jahmayne: Is there anything new coming up for you, what you can give Inside Gossip the first to know about?

Em-L: Well I’am shooting my first video in the next 2 weeks which I’am so excited about. And I have my EP out in November!

Jahmayne: Who is your biggest influence in your career?

Em-L: My little sister Sarah. She is my best friend & I love her so much! I want to ensure I set her up enough to not have to worry about money and not to have to struggle like we have for all our lives. She inspires me to make it!

Jahmayne: What made you want to be in the music business, and how long have you been in this line of work?

Em-L: Since I left performing arts college at 16, i knew i wanted to be involved in this business, i have always been involved in dancing and music

Jahmayne: Do you have any advice on young people out there who wont to make there dream’s come true?

Em-L: Never give up!  No matter what people say, if you believe in yourself then go for it!

Jahmayne: Would you say that the things you have been through in your life, made you into the talented artist you are today?

Em-L: Definately! Thanks for calling me talented by the way, I appreciate that alot. Yes it made me strong & in touch with myself & the world. My feelings and emotions have been brought out in my music and music is all about feelings! Music inspires me and my struggles have inspired my music.

Jahmayne: Is there any one out there that you thank for being where you are now?

Em-L: GOD. Some of the things that have happened for the best in my life. It would have not happened without him!

Jahmayne: What have you got planed for the next few months with your music?

The San Diego auditions of American Idol, which were aired last night, only lasted for an hour, so fans will get to see less Hollywood-bound singers. Ryan Seacrest said that 21 made it, but only six were shown on air. And from those six contenders, there were no frontrunners. The winners that made it were of various skill levels. Some were OK, some were good, but most of them were just plain boring and unlikable.

First, there’s Tetiana Ostapowych, who won the award for having the least marketable name ever. In fact, her name sounds like she was a reject of America ‘s Next Top model or A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. Finally, Simon Cowell gave her a big fat “No” and said that she isn’t as good as she is.

There’s also Perrie Cataldo, whose sob stories work at times. Emphasis on “at times.” The fact that he’s proud about being an adorable kid raised by a single dad is kind of old school, and that fact that he can’t even be straight about how his mother died is kind of weird. Wrong place and wrong time is usually reserved for innocent bystanders, but based on the way he said it, it seems like his mother was in a situation of her own doing. If and when Perrie gets into the top 24, he would probably be coming out. At the very least, former meth addict Jessica Front was honest and open about her own problems.

Another unlikable character was Michael Johns, whose accent was sort of annoying. But on the other hand, there were a few who looked decent enough to get on American Idol, such as the now legal immigrant Cathy Smithson and her overly tattooed boyfriend. There’s also David Archuleta, who overcame vocal chord paralysis. It’s also kinda freaky that David looks like a cross between Ryan Pinkston and Oliver from The O.C.

Last night’s cream of the crop was Samantha Musa, who successfully nailed her audition. Moreover, she adored Simon Cowell. She loves him, and she has the look, the voice and the Simon support to take her further into the competition.
